Some observant royal-watchers have caught the first words Prince Harry said to Meghan Markle after she walked down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel — and they are so sweet!
Unlike some couples today who do a “first look” before the ceremony, Harry and Markle didn’t see each other until she stepped into the church.
Harry watched her walk down the aisle in her stunning dress and almost looked as if he was on the verge of tears at one point (not that he’d be the first groom to shed a tear at his wedding by any means!).
The bride was escorted down the aisle by Prince Harry’s father and heir to the British monarchy, Prince Charles. The soon-to-be father-in-law looked proud and happy to have such an important role in his son’s big day.
Once Meghan made it down the aisle on the arm of Prince Charles, the pair turned to each other. And then Harry told her the words that are making royal-watchers around the world swoon: “You look amazing.”
His next phrase appears to be: “I’m so lucky.” Awww. Good work, Harry!
The bride and groom were beaming at each other at the altar, looking ready to exchange their vows and begin their married lives together.
And what a beautiful moment between the bride and her prince when Harry finally lifted the veil!
That veil, by the way, was 16 feet long and needed its own young attendants to make sure it looked perfect for the bride’s entrance and walk down the aisle. The two young men who had the honor and responsibility were twin brothers Brian and John Mulroney, sons of the bride’s best friend. They did a fantastic job, by the way.
And the boys were all smiles as they rode to and from the wedding as part of the royal procession! How adorable are they!
The ceremony was a perfect blend of traditional British royal pageantry along with a few modern twists that Harry and Meghan are known for as a couple.
Congrats to the happy couple!
