As the release of the sixth season of The Crown on Netflix approaches, the new cast is gradually being revealed. In this final instalment, Luther Ford will play Prince William. The British filmmaker will be taking his first steps as an actor when he lands the role.

This is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited series of this autumn. On 16 November, the first part of the sixth and final season of The Crown will be available on Netflix. The episodes of this new series will span the period from Diana’s death in Paris to the marriage of Charles III to Camilla Parker Bowles. While Imelda Staunton will once again play the role of the late Queen Elizabeth II, new actors have been added to the cast. To play Prince Harry in the second half of the season, series creator Peter Morgan has put his faith in Luther Ford, according to Newsweek. The role will be a real challenge for this young British film-maker. Lending his features to Meghan Markle’s husband, Luther Ford will be taking his first steps as an actor.

When he heard the news, he couldn’t hide his astonishment. And for good reason, Luther Ford took part in the casting on a whim, as he told Hero magazine. “I didn’t apply in the hope of getting it,” he said frankly. He added: “I just wanted to give it a go. A trial run that proved conclusive. To fit perfectly into the skin of the Duke of Sussex, the actor used a phrase that Princess Diana had said to her youngest son. “Diana said to Harry: ‘You can be as naughty as you like, but don’t get caught'”, he revealed. Before continuing: “And I thought, ‘Yes! That sort of summed up my experience of being in The Crown’.” While we wait to discover Luther Ford’s interpretation on the small screen, fans of the series have already been able to note the similarities with Lilibet and Archie’s father. With his almond-shaped eyes, tousled red hair and oval face, there’s definitely a slight resemblance.

The Crown: who will take on the roles of Princess of Wales and Prince William?

This long-awaited new season will not omit the meeting between Princess of Wales and Prince William at St Andrews University in Scotland. The producers of The Crown have chosen Meg Bellamy to play the Princess of Wales. The 19-year-old will be taking her first steps on a film set. According to the British press, the actress won acclaim for her stage performances at St Crispin’s High School in Wokingham, Berkshire. Very happy to be playing the mother of George, Louis and Charlotte on the small screen, Meg Bellamy let her joy explode on her Instagram account. “It’s such an honour to join the most amazing team, and I’m going to strive to do Princess of Wales justice!”

For his part, Ed McVey is set to play the heir to the throne. “I’m absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to play Prince William. Alongside the stunning Meg, filming is going to be incredible. Can’t wait to learn all I can!” the 21-year-old wrote on his Instagram account. The cast is complete.
