But the invitation could prove to be a double-edged sword.
A hand out as a sign of peace? Not so sure… This Monday 17 April, as the preparations for the Coronation of Charles III are coming to an end, the English tabloid The Daily Mail revealed that the King would have made a last proposal to the Sussex royal couple Harry and Meghan, with whom relations remain tense despite the acceptance of the son’s invitation to his father’s ceremony, with the aim of warming up relations between the British royal family and the couple exiled in Montecito.
Camilla’s husband is said to have organised a family moment during his Coronation festivities to pose together for a casual portrait so that a family memory of the moment remains for all, and to have suggested that Harry and Meghan join in. This portrait would be similar to the one held in 2018, on the occasion of Charles’ 70th birthday, where for a photo, the British royal family put aside their already existing differences to find themselves all together with a smile under the lens of official royal photographer Chris Jackson.
But isn’t this proposal from the King a double-edged sword? Because if the invitation to participate in this portrait from Charles III is commendable, it is now common knowledge that Prince Harry will attend his father’s coronation alone, Meghan Markle remaining in the United States with their children. His participation in this portrait would therefore literally take his wife and children out of the royal picture… at least in photography. With his proposal, the King may have been acting in good faith and offered the picture before Meghan Markle confirmed her absence, as it may also be a calculated move on his part to further distance Archie and Lilibet’s mother from the Firm.

It’s time, in fact, way past time Charles puts on hid big king pants and tells Harry and Meghan, this is where the line is drawn,you either are in the RF or you are not and still to a particular date. Harry and M have spent enough time with their demands, it’s time for Charles, as King, to say enough is enough. You are in or you are out. This is worse than program, The Crown. Charles as King is not serving his people with this continued soap opera!
