Princess Anne’s Explosive Actions Target Harry and Meghan Ahead of Coronation in Just 3 Days

As the coronation of her elder brother approaches, Princess Anne gave an interview to CBC News on Tuesday 2 May. During this interview, the desire of Charles III to lighten the monarchy was discussed. The only daughter of Elizabeth II responded by tackling Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in passing.

Each of her words is weighed. Princess Anne has, since the death of her mother Elizabeth II, taken on an important role within the British Crown. Very close to her monarch brother, Charles III, Prince Philip’s only daughter is keen to defend the institution in which she has evolved since her birth. This Tuesday 2 May, just four days before the coronation, Zara Tindall’s mother made a remarkable appearance on CBC News. In an interview with Adrienne Arsenault, Timothy Laurence’s wife was asked about the vision of a “leaner” monarchy that her eldest son has been promoting since his arrival on the throne. This led to the septuagenarian making a subtle reference to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In particular, the princess explained that the prospect of “slimming down” the monarchy seemed “justified” when there were “a few more people around”. For many pundits, this turn of phrase can only be directed at Anne’s nephew, who stepped down from his position at the Firm in 2020 with his wife. They are not the only ones to have ‘lightened’ the royal family in recent years. Prince Andrew, Anne and Charles III’s younger brother, was also forced to withdraw from public life after accusations of paedophilia and sexual assault in connection with the Epstein affair were made against him. The deaths of Prince Philip and Elizabeth II have also reduced the number of active royalty.

However, the television interview revealed Princess Anne’s disagreement with Charles III. In particular, she disagreed with the 74-year-old’s desire to dust off the monarchy and keep its cost to the British people to a minimum. “From my point of view, it’s not a good idea,” the mother of the family even said in her interview. Today, and as journalist Adrienne Arsenault pointed out, Princess Anne is undoubtedly one of the busiest personalities at the Firm. In 2022, she had the most royal engagements, appearing at 214 events across the UK. Far behind her brother and The Princess of Wales.

  1. That was a nothing story with some mistakes in relationships. At one point you refer to King Charles 111 as her eldest son and another point as mother of the family then at the end you reference the princess of Wales when I think you meant the prince of Wales.

    • This happens in most of the ‘Royal’ site’s postings. He becomes she and vice versa. I think they must be trying to change English grammar, or are they using self chosen pronouns? 😳

  2. What Princess Anne said was perfectly put when asked about fewer working royals – as three were now missing who should have had major roles. What was she supposed to say for goodness sake. Leave her alone she does the most work for little credit.
