They have resumed contact, but their relationship does not seem to improve. Princes Harry and William seem to have talked, according to information from Vanity Fair on March 16, also relayed by Gayle King, the journalist and presenter of CBS This Morning the next day, but the exchanges between the two brothers would be “not productive. Nearly two weeks after the explosive interview given to the American Oprah Winfrey by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, “trust is broken” between Harry and William, on both sides.
Gayle King said she was in contact with the couple formed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the weekend of March 13 and 14. During that exchange, they reportedly told her they hoped “the royal family would intervene” to ask the British press to stop distorting reality and publishing articles with racist tendencies. Sources close to the Sussexes have reportedly expressed the couple’s frustration at having anonymous sources speak out in the media in an attempt to refute the allegations made in their interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan Markle would also have assured the presenter of CBS This Morning to be in possession of documents able to support all her statements.

In the columns of Vanity Fair, a source close to Prince William said that there was now “a lack of trust on both sides, which makes progress very difficult. Indeed, Kate Middleton‘s husband would now fear that “everything he says to his brother will be broadcast on American television.
If the shocking interview was, in general, very well received in the United States, the British reaction was more than mixed. Sources have expressed doubts in the Sunday Times about two statements. The second is that the Duchess of Sussex would not have received any support from the royal clan after reporting fears for her mental health.

The only priority would be the health of Prince Philip, who was released from hospital on March 16 after undergoing heart surgery. A family friend said, “It seems that the Sussexes want to keep this story going at a time when the royal family is trying to protect Prince Philip from the headlines. “However, according to Vanity Fair, Prince Harry is said to be in touch with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, with whom he communicates regularly about the Duke of Edinburgh’s health.
