One of Harry’s godmothers, Lady Celia Vestey, died at the age of 71. She and her husband were close members of the British Royal Family.

A far from easy year for Prince Harry. After announcing his departure from the British Royal Family with Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex experienced several difficult months, characterized by continuous harassment from photographers, but most of all, by a miscarriage of his wife. Now the 36 year old must face a new mourning: the loss of his godmother, Lady Celia Vestey. The aristocrat died at the age of 71, died “suddenly, but peacefully”.

Lady Celia Vestey was a member of the royal family’s inner circle with her husband, Lord Samuel Vestey. The latter was “Master of the Horse to the Royal Household”, in other words in charge of the stables within the royal family, between 1999 and 2018. The following year he was appointed “Lord-in-wating” to the Queen. A function that involves carrying out missions, such as welcoming foreign heads of state, on behalf of the British monarch. The couple had three children, also invested with the royal family.
