Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are racking up disappointments. In addition to the cancellation of some major contracts, the Sussexes received further bad news for the rest of their careers on 12 July 2023.
Shunned by Hollywood. It’s been quite a year for the Sussexes. Meghan and Harry have been in the spotlight since last September with the controversies that followed the death of the Queen, then the release of their Netflix documentary and Prince Harry’s autobiographical book in January. But the sequence did them no good. The Sussexes thought they would improve their image with the announcement of the nominations for the Emmy Awards: they failed this time, as the couple were not nominated in any category on 12 July 2023, despite rumours of a possible award for their Netflix series.
As The Mirror reports, there are 25 award categories for the ceremony, which is the equivalent of the Oscars for television and streaming platforms. However, the Sussex couple can console themselves with another nomination: their docu-series is in the running for the Hollywood Critics Awards (HCA), a less exposed ceremony. Alongside Harry & Meghan are the series Prehistoric Planet, Geography of Bliss, Rennervations, The 1619 Project and The Reluctant Traveler.
Harry and Meghan are still very much in love
For the past few weeks, Meghan and Harry have been in one trouble after another, as have the divorce rumours. For The Mirror, there’s no need to panic: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very much in love with each other”, according to the Instagram account of one of their friends. Karl Larsen, photographer and very good acquaintance of Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father, shared some photos of the Sussexes on his Instagram account a few days ago. He added a caption that left no room for doubt about the state of Harry and Meghan’s marriage: “Please don’t believe the media. They are very much in love with each other and happy together, nothing but smiles and laughter over here”.
