Meghan Markle: the gift to William that allowed him to integrate perfectly into the family.

In 2017, Meghan Markle gave Prince William a very original gift. The American actress wanted to be seen by her future in-laws… and the bet was a success!

Because of the health crisis, these Christmas and New Year’s Eve festivities have a particular taste, it must be said. For the first time in years, the British royal family does not spend Christmas Eve in Sandringham, to the dismay of Queen Elizabeth II who loves to go there.

To be on the safe side, the 94-year-old sovereign has decided to stay at her Windsor Castle with her husband Prince Philip, who is 99 years old. As for the rest of the family, they will all celebrate separately in their own corners because of recent health restrictions. And for good reason, London and part of England are once again confined following a Covid-19 rise.

Meghan Markle’s gift

Thousands of miles away, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will spend the holiday season with their son Archie and certainly Doria Ragland. This is the first time they will be celebrating Christmas in the house they bought in Montecito, and they even bought their first tree for the occasion.

Already last year, the couple hadn’t celebrated with the rest of the royal family since they were in Canada. And usually, there is a tradition between all of them during the Christmas holidays: they love to give each other cheap and funny gifts.

A real “audition” within the family

In 2017, shortly after her engagement to Princess Diana’s son, Meghan Markle came up with an amazing gift idea for her future brother-in-law Prince William. In their book Finding Freedom, journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand tell that this gift exchange was like a real “audition” and that “Meghan Markle wanted to impress her future in-laws,” reports People. Before everyone’s amazed eyes, the American actress offered a gift that “was a real cardboard box”: a spoon with “cereal killer” inscribed on the bottom of a bowl of cereal. Proof that the duchess is not lacking in humor!
