The interview of the Sussexes in front of Oprah Winfrey has left no one unmoved. Invited this Tuesday, March 15 in the program Access Hollywood, Michelle Obama spoke about this explosive interview, during which the royal couple made dramatic revelations for the Crown. “When I think about what they are going through, when I think about the importance of family, I have hope and I pray that there will be forgiveness, clarity, love and solutions in the future,” she said. Then she added: “Because there is nothing more important than family”.
Voluntarily sober and impartial words, while Michelle Obama has become friends with Meghan Markle in recent years. On her Instagram page, the former First Lady had even dedicated a publication to the wife of Prince Harry. “Thank you to my friend, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex, a dedicated leader who breaks barriers and makes the world a better place. Whether she’s meeting with Obama Foundation leaders or helping young girls around the world get the education they deserve, she is an inspiration to us all,” she wrote.
It wasn’t a total surprise
When asked on NBC about the allegations of racism within the royal family, Michelle Obama confided that she was not totally shocked by Meghan Markle’s comments. “As I’ve said before, the concept of race is not new in this world for people of color, so it wasn’t a total surprise to hear her feelings about it,” she said. After the interview, many celebrities had given their support to the Duchess of Sussex, including former First Lady Hillary Clinton or Beyoncé.
