The explosive interview that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave to Oprah Winfrey in early March has caused a lot of ink to flow. Accustomed to speak his mind, Donald Trump has this time kept his opinion following the revelations of the Sussex couple. At least, in public …

Accustomed to give his opinion, even if it means causing controversy, Donald Trump has preferred to keep quiet this time. If some, like Boris Johnson or Stephane Bern, have not hesitated to put their grain of salt in the tornado triggered by the interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, others have preferred not to comment on this news, which has yet spilled a lot of ink and caused some turmoil within the British royal family. This is the case of Donald Trump. The former president of the United States has indeed chosen to remain silent … at least in public. If he opted for this strategy, it is not to suffer the same fate as the journalist Piers Morgan, said the site Metro.

Recently invited to the podcast “War Room” of businessman Steve Bannon, Jason Miller, the former adviser to Donald Trump, made some confidences about the explosive interview of the Sussex couple and the reaction that Ivanka Trump’s father would have had in private. If he felt that Meghan Markle had “not been good” during this exercise, he preferred not to share his opinion with the media. And to explain: “You realize that if you say something negative about Meghan Markle, you will be criticized, look at Piers (journalist Piers Morgan, ed.),” would have confided the predecessor of Joe Biden. There is no doubt, Donald Trump has clearly chosen his side: “Piers Morgan is the best, the greatest, and they tried to oust him simply because he criticized Meghan Markle,” he took offense.

Piers Morgan forced to resign?

As a reminder, Piers Morgan had been severely criticized after making harsh comments about the former American actress. The British journalist and host had not hesitated to attack the wife of Prince Harry, who, in front of Oprah Winfrey, had mentioned his suicidal thoughts and complained of not having received any help: “I’m sorry, I do not believe a word she says. I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report,” he commented. Following his serious remarks, Ofcom, the equivalent of the British CSA, announced that it had received more than 41,000 complaints.

The British channel ITV has therefore decided to sanction the man it employed for six years: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided that it is now time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing more to add,” she said in a statement published on its website. So, would Meghan Markle have asked for the head of Piers Morgan? According to the British media, the departure of the journalist would have been decided behind the scenes after “a formal complaint was filed against ITV on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex. The channel would then have taken the lead and asked him to withdraw. And his apology, made on Twitter on March 10, did not change his fate …
