Meghan Markle and Prince Harry under pressure: 6 months to settle their business

The Archewell Foundation launched by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is in trouble. The couple has six months to sort out their business.

Setting up a business project is not easy and the Sussex couple is starting to realize it. Last October, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry launched the Archewell Foundation and a podcast company, Archewell Audio. The former members of the Firm wanted to give a nod to their son, Archie, with the name of their company. However, when they wanted to register their trademark, the American administration was more demanding than expected. Invited in Palace Confidential, the podcast launched by the British media Mail+, the Royal commentator Richard Eden gave more details on the difficulties encountered by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As Richard Eden explains, Archie and Lilibet Diana’s parents made sure to secure their companies’ names around the world. However, they had some complications in the United States. “What happened was that they ran into problems in America, where the authorities said their application was just wrong,” he explains.

According to the crowned heads’ expert, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office needed “more information, more details and [they told] Harry and Meghan to come back when [they] can get a better file.” The couple must quickly resolve this concern since they have only “six months to deal with it, because otherwise their application will be rejected,” says Richard Eden.

Not the first glitch for the Sussex couple

This is not the first time that Prince Harry and his wife are faced with obstacles in their business. Initially, they had chosen the name Sussex Royal for their professional projects. However, Queen Elizabeth II and her teams have formally forbidden them to use this term. So they decided to abandon this name and opted for Archewell.
