Meghan Markle and Harry: why they no longer receive a penny from Prince Charles

Meghan Markle and Harry have (finally) become financially independent, following their departure from England last spring to start a new life in the United States.

They are now taking charge of their lives like greats. Meghan Markle and Harry “no longer receive any financial support” from Prince Charles, People.com reports. Just over five months after leaving England, the Sussex family became financially independent, in keeping with their ambition to leave their official duties as members of the royal family. An independence that was long overdue.

In addition, the couple is now even with the royal family. They finished paying the $3 million taxpayer-funded renovation costs for work on their Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. They had agreed to pay £18,000 every month for 11 years. To everyone’s surprise, the couple won’t wait until 2031 to repay the money to the taxpayer. A transfer has already been made by them!

Their plans are coming true

Times thwarted by the health crisis shaking the world, Meghan Markle and Harry’s professional projects are now on the right track. The couple recently signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Netflix to put documentaries online, for example.

The contract, which is said to be worth $150 million, provides that the Sussex, via their company whose name is still unknown, will be able to offer their own creations on the platform. This announcement is far from being positive and many users have posted messages of disapproval on social networks, as the Express reports.
