For the first time in its history, TIME magazine will produce a television program to announce its annual ranking of the 100 Most Influential People… in the presence of the Sussex couple. The show will air on ABC on September 22nd and Meghan and Harry have imposed their new whim.
Sim-pli-ci-té! This Tuesday, September 22nd, Meghan Markle and Harry will make their first television appearance in several months. An appearance very awaited by all their fans around the world, which will take place on the American channel ABC and… without the usual formalities.
Since the Megxit, ratified on the evening of March 31, Harry and Meghan have chosen freedom rather than monarchy, and therefore, for this first official post-Megxit media release, no prince or duchess: just call them “Meghan and Harry”, as just explained on Tatler magazine’s website.
Settled since this summer in Santa Barbara, where they live in a sublime villa with their son Archie, far from the British monarchy and its constraints, Harry, who has just celebrated his 36th birthday, and Meghan, enjoy today a great freedom, accentuated by the huge deal at 150 million dollars made with Netflix.
This new life, independent, exciting and… Hollywood, allows the young couple, married since 2018, to be cited today among the 100 most influential people in the world, according to the prestigious Time Magazine. Their television appearance will take place during the show devoted to this list, which will also be an opportunity to discover where they stand in the ranking.
Just “Meghan and Harry
An evening that will also allow them to put forward their new whim: to simply be called “Meghan and Harry”, a further proof of the break with the royal family, because if they lost their titles of royal highnesses by leaving the monarchy, they remained however the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
But it was out of the question for them to display their nobility: they are now “Meghan and Harry”.
Are they the most influential people in the world?
Last year, the list featured personalities as different as Japa
nese tenniswoman Naomi Osaka, actor Dwayne Johnson, American President Donald Trump, or Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who was at the top of the list. This is the first time TIME magazine’s annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people will be unveiled live on television, before the magazine with the full list goes on sale three days later on September 25.
So it’s a great media event that Meghan and Harry are getting ready for, and we’ll be bringing you the live coverage on September 22.
