In their first podcast for the Spotify platform, released on Tuesday, December 28, 2020, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed an intimate, never-before-seen anecdote about their royal wedding two years ago.

On Tuesday, December 29th, the Sussex family unveiled the first podcast produced by Archewell Audio as part of their juicy deal with Spotify earlier this month. And for this launch, the couple made it big with a special holiday episode full of surprises. It features their son Archie’s voice for the first time.
With their guests James Corden, Tyler Perry and Sir Elton John, a nice nod to Princess Diana, Meghan and Harry also shared many anecdotes and personal stories, including a never-before-seen memory of their royal wedding on May 19, 2018.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to close their first podcast with the song “This Little Light of Mine” tells the story of Town & Country, a song that was not selected at random as it was played in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on the day of their royal wedding.
A song that says it all
In the podcast, Harry explains that this famous gospel song is a “song that means a lot to us”. Meghan adds, “It’s the music we wanted to hear when we started our life together. Because, as we all know, ‘darkness can’t chase away darkness, only light can’.
A nod from the Duchess to the lyrics of the song. Finally, the prince concludes: “The message of this song is really close to our hearts. It’s about using the power we all have inside us to make this planet a better place”. By choosing to resonate “This Little Light of Mine” at the end of their first podcast, as they did at their wedding, Meghan and Harry are sending a message to their fans: to shine their inner light to make the world a better place.
