After their documentary aired on Netflix in December 2022, Prince Harry and Meghan could well be at the heart of a new project with the streaming giant, the Mirror reported on Tuesday 23 May.

Bis repetita? Only a few months after the release of the documentary Harry & Meghan, which was released on Netflix on December 8, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are already in talks with the streaming giant for a new project. According to several British media outlets, the 41-year-old actress and her husband would like to tell the story of their lives and experiences in the royal palace this time. “There’s a lot of nuance in their story that they feel is still missing after Harry’s documentary and book,” a source told Closer magazine. In addition to wanting to tell their story from a new perspective, the couple is said to be particularly “excited” about working with Netflix. And for good reason: the Sussexes seem “satisfied” with their remuneration for their first documentary.

“There’s no doubt they’d get a nice fee for it, which is extremely tempting,” the source continued, before revealing that Prince Harry would be more sceptical than his partner about putting the documentary together. “Meghan is really pushing for it to happen, while Harry wants to be more cautious. But they are considering it and their team is discussing how much money they would want for the rights to their story,” the source concluded.

Netflix: a shock film about Prince Andrew

For now, Prince Harry and Meghan, who have not yet confirmed this project, would like to wait. The reason? Closer magazine’s source assured that the Sussexes wanted to “wait and see” how the new film about Prince Andrew would be received. Because, yes, Netflix is also planning to release a feature film about Prince Andrew’s famous BBC interview, in which he intended to burnish his image after the Epstein affair. “It’s a film about power, privilege and different perspectives, and how – whether in glittering palaces or hi-tech newsrooms – we judge what’s true,” said Philip Martin, the director. Clearly, it seems that Netflix has decided to make the most of their new vein: stories about the royal family.
