This Tuesday, September 15, Prince Harry celebrates his 36th birthday in Los Angeles with Meghan Markle and their son Archie. But what are his plans for the celebration?

Eight months after the Megxit that marked his resounding departure from the Firm alongside Meghan Markle and her son Archie, his hectic move to Canada and his high-voltage departure for California due to the coronavirus, Prince Harry is celebrating his 36th birthday this Tuesday, September 15.

The Duke of Sussex will blow out the candles from Los Angeles and according to the British edition of Hello! magazine, the grandson of Her Majesty Elizabeth II plans to celebrate his big day with his family in the privacy of their new home. Indeed, our colleagues across the Channel also believe that the Crown rebels could be joined by Doria Ragland, the mother of the former star of the Suits series.

This Tuesday, September 15 will mark Prince Harry’s second birthday as a young father. A date that Meghan Markle celebrated on their former Instagram account – abandoned when the Megxit came into effect in March 2020 – with a tender message.

“The commitment you have to all the causes you care about is an inspiration to me. You are the best possible husband and father for our son. We love you,” wrote the former actress. Once again, the youngest son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana had chosen to celebrate intimately with his sweetheart and their baby, then four months old.

Forfeited his military titles

No doubt that his birthday will be a comfort to him. For, by choosing to renounce his status as a senior member of the royal family, Prince Harry has been stripped of his military titles, five years after leaving his position in the army, because of that same status.

“The most demoralizing aspect of the new deal was the fact that he was stripped of his honorary military appointments,” said producer Carolyn Durand and journalist Omid Scobie in their biography titled Finding Freedom.

These honors were awarded to him while he was still a member of the Windsor-Mountbatten clan. “As a retired military man, Harry would still be able to wear his medals, but he could no longer wear the uniform as Captain General of the Royal Marines, Honorary Air Force Commander of Royal Air Force Base Honington and Honorary Chief Commodore of the Royal Navy’s Small Ships and Diving Operations.”
