Harry and Meghan evicted from Frogmore Cottage: what if the Sussexes orchestrated it?

Chased out of Frogmore Cottage, Meghan and Harry don’t have a home in the UK anymore. So, Charles III could offer them an alternative…

The news had the effect of a bomb… Charles III took the decision to deprive Harry and Meghan of their residence of Frogmore Cottage, their last pied-à-terre in the UK. However, according to information from the Mail on Sunday, published this Saturday, March 4, the sovereign could offer the Sussexes “an olive branch” by allowing them to stay in an apartment at Buckingham Palace in London.

According to a source close to the Palace, “his majesty is furious”, but “he does not wish to deprive the Sussexes of a base in the United Kingdom”. Thus, a London apartment would prove to be the “best solution”. “The Sussexes have always wanted rooms at Buckingham Palace. They could take Andrew’s old rooms there, which are currently vacant,” explained this insider. Other options are also reportedly under consideration. Archie and Lilibet’s parents could, for example, put their luggage at St James’ Palace or in Lady Diana’s former apartment.

Frogmore Cottage or nothing

Prince Andrew, fallen from grace since the Epstein affair, will now have Frogmore Cottage at his disposal. The above-mentioned source said that “Andrew can have Frogmore Cottage or nothing”. Until now, the youngest son of Elizabeth II resided at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. This 30-room residence could, however, return to the Prince and Princess of Wales. “Royal Lodge is far too grand and far too big for Prince Andrew’s current status. […] It is therefore natural that it has long been chosen by Prince William,” stressed another source. Thus, the mercato of royal housing would be far from over.

Harry and Meghan evicted from Frogmore Cottage: what if the Sussexes orchestrated it?

King Charles III would have asked his son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan Markle to leave Frogmore Cottage. If a royal expert said that the Sussexes were angry, another theory emerges in the British press.

On Wednesday, March 1, a spokesman for the Sussexes claimed that King Charles III had asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to leave their last residence in the United Kingdom. “It all seems very final and looks like a cruel punishment,” a source close to the couple had suggested to journalist Omid Scobie. Frogmore Cottage is a property within the grounds of Windsor Castle. Since the departure of the Sussexes in America, it is Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank who reside there.

Following the announcement of this forced departure, the reaction of the parents of Archie and Lilibet was not long in coming. In a statement issued by Archewell, a spokeswoman for the couple’s foundation assured that the Sussexes had only “until after the coronation” to leave the premises. A fate that could pity more than one Briton … and that challenges a British journalist, Kinsey Schofield, in the program Sunrise. According to the young woman, Harry and Meghan Markle could have invented this story from scratch in order to gain sympathy from the British. Since the release of the book Spare and its revelations deemed indiscreet, the Sussexes had suffered numerous attacks and had seen their popularity ratings plummet. Richard Eden, a journalist at the Daily Mail, shares the same theory. According to him, the royal couple would have forced the King to act in this way to restore their image.

Prince Andrew asked to move in

Offered by Elizabeth II for their wedding, Frogmore Cottage had a special symbolism for the Sussexes. When they announced their departure from their official duties in the British crown in 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle had committed to repay the more than two million pounds spent to renovate the house. As for the future of Frogmore Cottage, the residence may well remain uninhabited. King Charles III is said to have proposed that Prince Andrew, a resident of the Royal Lodge, move in. But he refuses to leave his pied-à-terre, for fear of seeing his annual allowance reduced.

  1. The King should not offer Harry and Megan any place…house or apartment. They do not deserve a tent on the corner. They both have decided that breaking royal protocol and disclosing the inner conversations is beyond belief especially for Harry. He has been brainwashed and manipulated by Meagan who went there with dreams of grandeur and thinking she was going to be the American to show the British how to do things. She is trash and now neither one of them should be allowed any connection to the Royal family. The only way Harry should be welcomed back is when he divorces her and the King claims custody of the children.
