Charles III’s big day has finally arrived! This Saturday 6 May, the British monarch will be crowned at Westminster Abbey, in the presence of his two sons, Princes William and Harry. The latter is said to have arrived in London on Friday 5 May, by a commercial flight.
The British have been waiting for the coronation of their sovereign, Charles III, for over eight months. We are now just a few hours away from this historic event, which will take place in Westminster Abbey from 12 noon, French time, on Saturday 6 May. Many prestigious guests have already arrived to attend the reception hosted by the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla, at Buckingham Palace. According to Page Six, Prince Harry has also arrived in London. Usually preferring to travel by private jet, the King’s youngest son is said to have chosen this time to travel to his native country by commercial flight from California.
Coming without his wife, Meghan Markle, or their children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, Harry has indeed played the discretion card for this highly anticipated return to the fold. For security reasons, information about his arrival in the UK has been kept secret until now. The magazine says that on Friday evening, the Duke will spend the night at Frogmore Cottage, the pied-Ã -terre just a stone’s throw from Windsor Castle, to which he will soon have to return the keys to Buckingham.
Prince Harry will be on the plane to Montecito two hours after the coronation
But as the British press reported a few days ago, this will be a quick trip. While the celebrations surrounding his father’s coronation will last all weekend, the prince will fly to Montecito, his place of residence in the United States, only two hours after the coronation. Prince William’s brother has a tight schedule: in 24 hours, he aims to support his father in London but also to blow out his son Archie’s fourth candle with his little family at the end of the day.
“Harry will do everything he can to get home in time for Archie’s birthday,” a close friend told Page Six on Friday. While the Daily Mail revealed he would be flying back to Montecito on a private Cessna jet after the coronation, the Page Six insider says the prince will once again be taking a commercial flight. If the Duke of Sussex’s mode of transport is the talk of the town, it is certainly because, being fervent defenders of the environment, Meghan and Harry have, on several occasions, been pointed out for their excessive use of jets.
