Thomas Markle, who confessed that he has not been on good terms with the Duchess of Sussex for four years, was the guest of Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on the set of Good Morning Britain this Tuesday. The 76-year-old revealed during the show the content of the last telephone exchange he had with Prince Harry, and the mood was not the lightest. The facts date back to 2018, a few days before the couple’s wedding.
Thomas Markle, victim of a heart attack, had to be hospitalized in the United States two weeks before the princely event, the reason why he could not attend the ceremony. Meghan Markle’s father says that from his hospital bed, he spoke on the phone with Prince Harry, who allegedly had a “condescending” phrase for him. “If you had listened to me, this would not have happened to you,” the young prince would have dropped to his father-in-law. Following which Thomas Markle would have preferred to cut short the conversation. “I was lying in a hospital bed after surgery, I had been put tubes here and there and it was a bit immature, so I hung up,” reveals the man in Good Morning Britain. This is the last exchange of Thomas Markle with the royal couple, he who assures that he has not heard “in any form” from Meghan and Harry since.

Meghan Markle’s father also reacted to the comments made by his daughter during the interview event with Oprah Winfrey on March 7, in which she said she felt “betrayed” by the fact that her father fed the tabloids about her. “I regret doing that,” confessed Thomas Markle, who says he has “apologized for it, a hundred times.” Today, despite his strained ties with Meghan Markle, he assures “love” his daughter, whom he would like to see again.
