The Megxit still remains in the minds of the British. After moving to California with his wife, Meghan Markle and their son, Archie, Prince Harry is expected to return to London to visit his family in June.
Many royal events are planned for the summer of 2021, including Prince Philip’s 100th birthday celebrations and the 95th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. However, according to sources, it is unlikely that Meghan Markle and little Archie will be part of this trip. For the time being, no official decision seems to have been taken due to the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic.
One source told us: “It should be noted that there is still an element of uncertainty about this due to the unpredictable situation of the Covid, but what is being said is that the Duke is likely to have to return [to the UK] on his own. This insider also made a point of clarifying Meghan Markle’s decision to stay in California: “It’s a personal and practical decision by the couple, but one that would make it easier for many to work in what promises to be a rather delicate situation”. In any case, this source stated that Meghan Markle did not intend to “snub” royalty.
Meghan Markle would be an eye-catcher
For his part, another close relative of the British royal family revealed to the Mail: “Harry wants to come back for the big birthdays of the Queen and Prince Philip. But it seems likely that he will be alone”, before continuing: “If Meghan returns, it is possible that her coming might overshadow the event. People would only see the ‘drama’ side of it all.” It is true that since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to move away from the royal family, the couple is not very well received by the British. According to a poll conducted by the Daily Express, the result is rather fatalistic. For many of those polled, the marriage between little Archie’s parents “will not last”. Even so, the two of them don’t seem to care about all this noise.
