Meghan Markle confides in NPR Weekend about her first Father’s Day. She confesses that she bought Prince Harry a bench.
Meghan Markle has made some revelations about her son, Archie, 2, as well as Prince Harry’s first Father’s Day. These revelations were made during an interview with NPR Weekend. This is an interview recorded long before the birth of Lilibet. The Duchess of Sussex confided that her son, Archie, is a voracious reader and that he loves her children’s book, The Bench.
In the same interview, the Duchess of Sussex also confides on their first Father’s Day. She confesses that she bought a bench for her husband. On it, there is an engraved plaque. Meghan Markle also says she was inspired by this scene where she sees father and son, Harry and Archie, to write her poem.
Her first interview since Oprah Winfrey
This interview with NPR Weekend is the first for Meghan Markle since her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Recall that in the latter, the Sussexes had accused the royal family of racism.
“I knew our son would notice all of these things, and he loves the book, which is great because he has a voracious appetite for books and when we read him a book, he always says ‘more, more, more.’ But now, the fact that he loves The Bench and we can say, ‘Mommy wrote this for you,’ is an amazing feeling,” the duchess tells NPR producer Samantha Balaban. “I think you can find little sweet moments that we have hidden in there – from my favorite flower, even my husband’s mother’s favorite flower, forget-me-nots,” Meghan Markle adds
