After choosing discretion since leaving the British Royal Family, Meghan Markle is back. In recent days, she has appeared several times on television. Notably in America’s Got Talent.
The Sussex are back in the spotlight. After having left the ranks of the royal family last March to settle in the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had initially chosen discretion and incognito outings.
But since a few days, Archie’s parents multiply the appearances. This Tuesday, September 22nd, it is as a couple that they broke the protocol of the Crown on ABC by calling the Americans to go and vote for the next presidential election.
“Your voice reminds you that you matter, because you do and you deserve to be heard,” said Meghan Markle. A widely commented speech, which even Donald Trump castigated. Regardless of the comments, the Duchess of Sussex intends to live her new life as she sees fit.
After speaking on American politics, she made another television appearance. On Wednesday, September 23rd, viewers found her in America’s Got Talent.
Fan of the program, Meghan Markle wanted to wish good luck to one of the candidates of the final of the talent contest, the singer Archie Williams. “I just wanted to let you know that we were so moved by your story (he served a prison sentence of over thirty years after being accused of raping a young woman before being cleared with his DNA, editor’s note) and that we cheer for you every week, and it’s not just because we have a crush on your name,” Meghan Markle joked at first, referring to her little boy named Archie.
The Duchess went on to deliver a message “that she’ll probably tell her child for the rest of her life”: “Archie, we’re proud of you and we support you. We can’t wait to see what you’re going to do. Despite the Sussex’s encouragement, Archie Williams did not win his 15th season of America’s Got Talent but will remember his TV appearance fondly. This surprise appearance of Meghan Markle on television comes a few hours after the controversy of their position.
The new offensive of Meghan Markle
Prince Harry called on Americans “to reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity” while asking them to vote on November 3. The speech was widely criticized, even though members of the royal family are not supposed to give their opinion on politics.
If Donald Trump reacted quickly by wishing Prince Harry “good luck”, Buckingham Palace simply reminded that “the Duke is no longer an active member of the royal family and all his comments are made in a personal capacity”.
Determined to defend their views, the Sussex launched a new legal offensive. In new documents filed, the Duchess of Sussex denied having participated in Finding Freedom, her shocking biography. Through one of her lawyers, she regretted the publication of “inaccurate” information and “harmless stories”. The best defense is an attack.
