Meghan Markle less popular than Camilla Parker Bowles: The poll overwhelms her

As a YouGov poll revealed on Friday, February 5, Meghan Markle’s popularity has suffered from her conflict with the monarchy. She is now less popular than Camilla Parker Bowles.

Her conversion away from the royal family amuses no one. A YouGov poll confirms this once again on Friday 5 February. According to this survey, only 32% of those surveyed have a positive opinion of Meghan Markle. Nearly half (40%) are not won over by Prince Harry’s wife while 25% of the British people polled have a neutral opinion of her. As a result, the Duchess of Sussex inherited eleventh place in the ranking… behind Camilla Parker Bowles. The second wife of Prince Charles was ninth in the same ranking.

A shock for both women, as the Duchess of Cornwall has long been under fire for her affair with the eldest son of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. But also as a result of the negative impact of the affair on Lady Diana’s health and well-being. While Camilla Parker Bowles could not find her place in the hearts of 26% of the population surveyed, 37% were seduced by her role in the Firm. Meghan Markle can however boast of receiving the support of the younger generation, as deciphered by the newspaper The Express. She remains less popular than Sophie de Wessex, the new figurehead of the Crown and former mentor to Archie’s mother. Prince Edward’s wife closes the top 10.

How popular is Her Majesty?

Queen of England, Her Majesty Elizabeth II was nevertheless dethroned in this poll. The 94-year-old monarch is in second place in the ranking, behind her grandson, Prince William. His wife, Kate Middleton, moved up to third place, well ahead of her rival Meghan Markle. Finally, the former actress has even been overtaken by her husband: Prince Harry is in eighth place in the rankings. Physically and emotionally separated, the tensions struggling to ease, the Fab Four are just as much in the public eye. Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are respectively in twelfth and fourteenth place in the ranking. Heavily impacted by the Jeffrey Epstein affair, the sulphurous aura of Prince Andrew has earned him 15th and last place.
