After marrying Prince Harry in 2017, Meghan Markle applied to the authorities for British citizenship. According to the revelations of our sources, little Archie’s mother will not finally be able to become a British citizen.

Meghan Markle was hoping to become a naturalized British citizen. In 2017, Prince Harry’s wife, baptised and confirmed in the Anglican religion, was anxious to be accepted by the royal family and the British. Jason Knauf, Prince Harry’s communications secretary, supported her application to the BBC in December of that year.

“She intends to become a British citizen and that she will go through the process, which some of you may know takes several years,” he had assured. Three years later, her hopes were dashed. According to revelations in the Daily Mail, on Sunday 10 December, the authorities finally rejected her application for naturalisation. Little Archie’s mother will not become one of them.

In order to obtain her husband’s nationality, Meghan Markle would have had to meet certain conditions. The former actress would have had to reside in England for three years and stay in the country for more than 270 consecutive days.

The problem is that she has been travelling back and forth to the United States in order to reconnect with the royal family. The Megxit, which came into force on 31 March 2020, has not helped the situation. After resigning their royal duties, the former star of the Suits series and Henry Charles Albert David, his real name, set down their luggage in Los Angeles. So many reasons that led the British authorities to refuse her application for naturalization.

No further applications expected

Now that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would like to bury the hatchet with the royal family, little Archie’s parents could return to live in England. In that case, nothing would prevent the former duchess from repeating her request for naturalisation. Nevertheless, the two lovebirds would not consider a retro-pedal. In Montecito, the couple would live their California dream, as they had always hoped.
