Markle, who has been out of the royal family since last March, is said to have assured her entourage of the impact this decision could have on her fate, the Daily Mail reported.

Nearly three months after the Megxit, Meghan Markle takes stock of this radical decision taken with Prince Harry. According to a source in the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge told her friends that she could now see how her “instinct to leave England” and move to California, which had been simmering for two years, “made sense”.

In the midst of a protest against police violence and racial discrimination in the United States, Archie’s mother even felt “destined” to fight racism.

“Meghan said her leadership role was more important today than ever, she spoke with Oprah (Winfrey, editor’s note) and other community representatives to find out how she can take part in this cause,” said the Daily Mail source, who is close to the Duchess of Cambridge.

In early June, Meghan Markle had publicly reacted to the death of African-American George Floyd, who was asphyxiated when he was stopped by police after being held in silence for some time.

“Driving change.”

In her speech, Prince Harry’s wife had explained that she had not spoken earlier because she was “nervous”, but nevertheless said that the “worst thing to do would be not to speak at all”. Now retired from the royal family, Meghan Markle would like to use her status to her advantage. “Meghan feels that her mission goes much further than just acting,” he said. She said she wants to use her voice to bring about change and she does not rule out a career in politics,” the Daily Mail source said.
