A departure that came at a bad time for the couple as the Duchess of Sussex was targeted by attacks of harassment against her staff in Kensington. This Tuesday, July 6, Catherine St. Laurent gives more details on her unexpected resignation to the media The Cut. In this interview, she praises Prince Harry and his wife and even describes them as “very influential leaders”.

These are words that will certainly please the parents of Archie and Lilibet Diana. The one that the Duchess and the Duke of Sussex had qualified as an “incredible asset”, at the time, keeps a good memory of her few months within the Archewell foundation. “They are incredibly talented and creative leaders. I’m really grateful to have had the opportunity to work for them and to have been able to be with them in launching this project,” she says. According to Catherine St-Laurent, Meghan Markle and her husband “have the potential to be very influential leaders in the field of social impact,” she confirms.

An exhausting job?

Gratifying statements that do not, however, echo what the former director had said a few months ago. Last March, it was stated that Catherine St-Laurent had left her position because she had to “fulfill many tasks”. It is now James Holt, previously in charge of communications for the Royal Foundation in the United Kingdom, who has replaced Catherine St-Laurent as head of the Sussex couple’s foundation.
