Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again reached out to those in need. Through their Archewell Foundation, the Sussex couple made a donation to an organization to help Haiti.
They have once again shown their generosity. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come to the aid of the people of Haiti. The Daily Mail reports this Tuesday, August 24, that the parents of Archie and Lilibet have made a donation to a non-profit organization that distributes hot meals in hospitals and shelters in the Caribbean country, while it experienced a devastating earthquake on August 14. The Sussex couple made the gesture to the World Central Kitchen through their Archewell Foundation.
The organization works on a global scale and is run by a friend of the couple, Jose Andrés, with whom they have previously collaborated. On Instagram, she thanked Harry and Meghan for their donation and for “joining the relief effort.” As a result, several thousand hot meals were able to be distributed to Haitians, who are struggling to recover from the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit them, killing more than 2,000 people and devastating large areas.
A donation for Afghan women
Meghan Markle and Harry had published a statement on their website, referring to the tragedies that occurred in the world. The couple has also come under fire for calling for donations to charities without specifying how much they themselves intend to give. Royal pundit Angela Levin called their statement “bogus” and spoke of their attempts to set up “an alternating royal family”. Prior to helping Haiti, the Sussex couple also made an unspecified donation to Women For Afghan Women, which is trying to evacuate thousands of Afghan women, children and families. Meghan Markle and Harry described themselves as “speechless” and “heartbroken” at the time.
