A new project for Meghan Markle and Harry? The Sussex couple might want to start their own vineyard.

From now on, Meghan Markle and Harry have taken refuge in a luxurious villa in Santa Barbara, in Montecito, and are multiplying their projects. Archie’s parents have, little by little, laid the foundations of their empire with two lucrative contracts with Netflix and Spotify. But they’re not stopping there. While Harry recently accepted a new position at a Silicon Valley startup, are he and Meghan Markle considering a move into the wine industry? It wouldn’t be illogical. Remember that the couple has settled on the West Coast near Montecito and Southern California is known for its wine region.

Great lover of wine, according to The Royal Observer, the former star of Suits and her husband could be tempted to start in this industry, as a close friend told our source. Like other celebrities before them, Cameron Diaz, Sarah-Jessica Parker or Drew Barrymore, to name a few. A neighbor, Penny Bianchi, recalled how popular it was to start her own vineyard in the area and confided: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry and Meghan did the same. […] It would be really interesting and cool if they created their own wine label.”

Santa Barbara, the new Napa Valley

For local winemaker Greg Martellotto, who runs Martellotto Winery, it’s no small thing that the couple chose to settle in Santa Barbara. This place seems to be the new Napa Valley, considered one of the most prestigious wine production areas in the United States and this since the 19th century. According to the winemaker, prices have skyrocketed in Napa and with the exorbitant land prices, buyers have been increasingly looking at Santa Barbara. The county already has more than 275 wineries. And soon a new one signed by the Sussex?
