Prince Harry celebrated his 36th birthday on Tuesday, September 15. To mark the occasion, the couple from Sussex made a very generous donation to an association that works for the education of women in Africa.

Giving rather than receiving. Prince Harry, who celebrated his 36th birthday on Tuesday, September 15, was very generous. Indeed, to celebrate their respective birthdays, Meghan Markle celebrated hers on August 4, the couple from Sussex wanted to hit hard.

Together, they made a personal donation of $130,000 to the charity CAMFED, which fights for access to education for women in Africa, as reported by our colleagues in Town and Country.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to match public donations worth approximately $129,000, raised through a fundraising campaign created to mark their anniversaries.

“There is no better way to celebrate what really matters. Thank you to everyone who donated,” said Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a message posted on the CAMFED fundraising page.

“Since its Twitter launch on July 25, the #InspiredByMeghan fundraising campaign for the CAMFED Graduate Scholarships, launched by ‘Team Sussex’, has been at the center of an extraordinary wave of action and generosity from a global network of supporters of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” the organization said on its website.

“By the end of the Duchess of Sussex’s birthday on August 4, the movement had raised an astonishing $69,700. Six days later, thanks to the hashtag #InspiredByHarry, donations reached 87,300 dollars, which made it possible to support 37 young women for a whole year of professional training,” the members of the association were delighted.

On Tuesday, September 15, the Sussex couple celebrated Prince Harry’s birthday in the privacy of their new Montecito property in the United States. Although no member of the royal family was invited, many wished the young father a very happy birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II did not forget her favorite grandson, nor Prince Charles for that matter. Kate Middleton and Prince William also had a thought for Harry: the royal couple posted an intriguing photo on their Instagram account. A sign that despite the final torments caused by the sudden departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the royal family has not forgotten them.
