Meghan Markle and Harry: New photo and new message for their Archewell Foundation website

On February 19, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry confirmed that they would not return as active members of the royal family. But stating that “service is universal”, the Sussex couple continue to work through their Archewell Foundation, with or without the support of the Firm.

On February 19th, the announcement was a bombshell. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry confirmed to Elizabeth II that they would not return as active members of the Royal Family, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. Opposed to a hybrid role, believing that members of the royal family could not be “half in, half out”, Elizabeth II had taken away the Sussex couple’s military titles and patronage. “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal,” the exiled couple retorted, as if they were a sneak peek at the Queen’s decision.

Determined to pursue their plans, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made some changes to the website of their non-profit organization, the Archewell Foundation, as People reported. A new photo of the Sussex couple, masked, and a message, “Compassion in Action,” reads on the home page, “Welcome to Archewell. Through our nonprofit work, as well as creative activations, we are fostering cultural change in all communities, one act of compassion at a time.” This is further proof that the Sussex couple, whether or not they are members of the Royal Family, intend to carry out their projects without being dictated to by the Firm.

No, I didn’t run away

This Thursday, February 25, Prince Harry made a notable appearance on The Late Late Show alongside James Corden. In this interview, the Duke of Sussex was keen to set the record straight about his withdrawal from the royal family: “No, I didn’t run away and I will always be at the service of others, no matter where I live,” he said. Prince Harry has therefore withdrawn, but has not resigned. Next March 7, during an exclusive interview given to the American television star Oprah Winfrey, he should keep this same line of conduct, and spare the Queen, Elizabeth II, for whom he keeps a deep affection.
