Meghan Markle and Harry: Chickens and a house at 10 million their authentic life makes talk

If Meghan Markle and Harry were proud to present their “more authentic” life to Oprah Winfrey, their home in Santa Barbara shows the opposite of a peaceful daily life far from strass and glitter according to L’Obs, this Wednesday, March 10.

The art of the contradiction. By going into exile across the Atlantic, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hoped to distance themselves from the limelight, after trying months during which they were hounded by the media. Away from the Crown, they are getting closer to nature by adopting a dozen chickens rescued by the former actress of Suits (and housed in a henhouse named after their son Archie). A life “much more authentic”, as she could congratulate herself in front of Oprah Winfrey … conducted in a villa in Santa Barbara estimated at 10 million dollars, underlines L’Obs this Wednesday, March 10.

Isolated area acquired in June 2020, with a boost from Prince Charles, after several months during which they were housed temporarily by the producer Tyler Perry. With nine bedrooms and double the number of bathrooms, a spa, a gym, a pool and even a separate guest house, their villa has all the makings of a palace. It’s also worth remembering that Montecito, where Meghan Markle and Harry have found refuge, is a real celebrity nest. Among their neighbors, the couple counts Oprah Winfrey but also actress Gwyneth Paltrow, Ellen DeGeneres as well as Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. An “authentic” daily life but certainly not less luxurious.

The founding bases of an empire

For while Prince Charles cut them off after they left the United Kingdom for Canada, the Sussex were able to bounce back thanks to Lady Diana’s legacy. But not only that. As soon as they arrived across the Atlantic, they looked into their financial emancipation by launching their own company, named Archewell, before signing two juicy contracts with Netflix and Spotify. Their empire is still in its infancy: according to the British tabloid The Sun, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now planning to set up their production company.

Against Oprah Winfrey, however, no mention has been made of these projects. The former actress opted for a settlement of accounts with the Crown, focusing instead on her integration into the royal family, her conflict with Kate Middleton, and the racist comments that targeted her first child. Further revelations would not be ruled out, however.
