Meghan & Harry “Can Always Come Back”: Queen’s Tender Farewell Message

ALTHOUGH “ANNOYED” BY THE “MEGXIT”, WHICH WILL TAKE EFFECT ON MARCH 31, ELIZABETH II WOULD BE ABOVE ALL UNDERSTANDING. THE QUEEN HAD RECENTLY REASSURED PRINCE HARRY: WITH HIS WIFE MEGHAN, THEY COULD ONE DAY, IF THEY WISHED, RESUME THEIR PLACE IN THE ROYAL FAMILY.

On March 31, 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will officially distance themselves from the monarchy to lead a more peaceful life in North America. However, Elizabeth II would have assured her grandson that they would always be welcome if they decided to resume their role in the royal family.

According to a source in the Sun, the Queen and the Duke of Sussex had a one-on-one discussion at a luncheon in Windsor on March 1.

The 35-year-old Briton and the 93-year-old monarch would have spent nearly four hours talking heart-to-heart. Prince Harry himself is said to have initiated the conversation: “The Queen had a lot to say to Harry, and it was the perfect time for both of them to express what they each had to say,” a tabloid source reported.

When Harry and Meghan announced that they wanted to distance themselves, it all happened very quickly and it was very stressful for everyone involved. Sunday was the first time the queen had a chance to talk to Harry in person and really get to know his plans…. She made it very clear that he and Meghan could always come back if they changed their minds and she welcomed them with open arms.”

Even if Elizabeth II wants to be understanding, she would still be “very upset” to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving with their son Archie (10 months old). Again with the Crown’s interest in mind, the Queen would also have reminded her grandson that “their arrangement could only work if they did not exploit their royal status to ‘cash in’.

On 21 February, Buckingham had announced the conditions for Sussex’s independence: they must renounce using the term “royal” in their new professional life. This was a hard blow for the couple, who had already registered the “Sussex Royal” trademark in various fields such as events and publishing.

Farewell tour before leaving for Canada

There is still the question of covering the costs related to the security of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, both in Canada, their new country of residence, and during their travels.

The Canadian police have already announced that they will no longer pay the particularly high Sussex bill, estimated at £20 million a year. While they await a clearer picture of their new life away from the monarchy, the Duke and Duchess are preparing to make a series of final official engagements in London.

Already in England for several days, Prince Harry will soon be joined by his wife to attend the Endevaour Fund Awards on the evening of March 5. As for their son Archie, he will stay in Canada, cared for by his nanny and Jessica Mulroney, a close friend of Meghan Markle.

The Sussex family will finally reunite with the rest of the royal family for a grand reunion at the Commonwealth Mass on March 9 in Westminster.
