The day after the publication of a video in which the Sussex couple took a stand against Donald Trump, their former campaign manager took a stand against them in the Daily Mail.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry took a position against Donald Trump less than two months before the American presidential election, and the camp of the latter does not spare them. Following their position against the president candidate for re-election in a video message unveiled Tuesday, September 22, the pro-Trump camp added Sussex to their list of enemies and does not hide its disdain for them.
Corey Lewandowski, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and former political commentator for Fox News and the far-right One America News Network (OANN), reacted in an interview with the Daily Mail on Wednesday, September 23.
“They gave back their greatness to Britain by leaving. I hope they will do the same for us,” he asserted in the tabloid columns currently in trial against the Duchess, referring to the slogan “Make America Great Again” of the head of state to which Meghan Markle was already opposed in 2016.
Donald Trump also reacted
Donald Trump himself has also gone up against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry the day after the release of a video recorded at their home on Tuesday, September 22. He wished “good luck” to Prince Harry and ironically said, “Because he’s going to need it!”
Selected as one of Time magazine’s Top 100 Most Important People of 2020, Sussex recorded a video in which they encourage Americans to vote. In the speech published by ABC, Prince Harry called on them to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity” and Meghan Markle stressed the importance of this event, “the most important election of [their] lives”.
