Harry and Meghan: this very bling gift to Prince George

Despite rumours of tensions between Sussex and Cambridge, Meghan Markle and Harry are said to have given Prince George a luxurious miniature 4×4 for his fourth birthday.

If Meghan Markle and Harry did not celebrate the birthday of Prince George, who turned seven on Wednesday, July 22, there was a time when the situation was quite different.

According to the recent biography Finding Freedom, written by royalty reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the couple would have been more inclined not to even look at the expense to please the little boy. For his fourth birthday, the eldest son of Kate Middleton and Prince William would have received nothing less than a luxury electric mini-SUV, reports The Sun.

While its starting price is estimated at around 438 euros, it can go up to 1,644 euros depending on the make and model. In the same year, Meghan Markle and Harry would also have shown their generosity to little Charlotte, albeit to a lesser extent, by giving her a tricycle for her second birthday.

But the tensions that would have risen to a new level between Harry and William may well have made a lasting difference, the authors of the biography point out. As a result, there is no birthday message for Prince George this year, even though some people defend Sussex for a purely technical reason.

Conflicts unearthed

In their pages, excerpts of which were published by The Times and Sunday Times, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand go back over the conflicts exacerbated by the Megxit, in particular the jealousies between the two couples, even though some of the Cambridge family members say that the latter “could not have been more welcoming”. The revelations that now follow one another in the British press are unlikely to help reconciliation.
