On April 21, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, now living in Los Angeles, made a videoconference call to Queen Elizabeth II to wish her a happy birthday. During this exchange, the Sovereign made a tender confession about Archie, her great-grandson.
Out of sight, but close to the heart. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sought to demonstrate this on April 21, Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday. Because of the confinement, the sovereign was forced to celebrate her 94th birthday in Windsor, with Prince Philip but without the other members of the British royal family. Fortunately, thanks to new technology, several of her relatives called her and wished her a happy birthday in person. Among them were Meghan Markle and Harry, who reached her on a video conference call.
During this exchange, Meghan Markle and Harry, who now live in Los Angeles since they relinquished their royal duties, were accompanied by their son Archie who, as one can imagine, put on the show under the laughing eyes of Prince Philip’s wife. Happy to see her great-grandson again, Queen Elizabeth II noted some similarities with her grandson, Prince Harry. “The couple spoke to the 94-year-old Queen on her birthday, with Her Majesty commenting on the similarities between Prince Harry and her son,” Royal columnist Katie Nicholl told the Daily Mail.
He’s the spitting image of his father.
What is certain is that Queen Elizabeth II is not the only one (nor the first) to have raised this common point between father and son. If, after little Archie’s baptism, British Crown aficionados wondered whether the toddler looked more like his mother or his father, it is clear that, over time, George, Charlotte and Louis’ cousin increasingly resembled his father.
On May 6, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor blew out his first candle. For the occasion, a video was posted on social networks, in which the little boy, dressed in a white bodysuit, was seen waddling on his mother’s lap. In addition to the strong character of the royal baby, another detail caught the attention of the internet users: the resemblance with Prince Harry at the same age. And the “similarities” – as Queen Elizabeth II noted – go beyond red hair! Same features, same pout, same mischievous look, no doubt, Archie is the spitting image of his father. But let Meghan Markle reassure herself, her son looks like him in other ways too.
