No one in the royal family had spoken with Meghan as of this weekend

According to the American journalist Gayle King, who contacted by phone the Sussexes, no member of the royal family would have contacted Meghan Markle, following her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Persona non grata. This status is gradually confirmed for Meghan Markle. Nearly a week after the broadcast of his interview with Oprah Winfrey, the wife of Prince Harry is accusing the blow. The British royal family, which she has not hesitated to scratch during her interview by accusing her of racism, seems to refuse to talk to her, according to her friend, the American journalist Gayle King. This Tuesday, March 16, the latter made revelations on the set of his television show, CBS This Morning. She explained that she had reached the Sussexes by phone to check on them. If Prince Harry was able to talk with his brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles, it would not have been the same on the side of Meghan Markle.

Object of “rancor” for the Duke of Cambridge, like the Prince of Wales, the former actress of Suits did not talk to his in-laws. “No one in the royal family has contacted Meghan yet, at this point,” Gayle King revealed. “I think it’s frustrating for (Meghan and Harry) that the conversation around racism is focused on the royal family, when all they wanted was for the royal family to step up and tell the press to stop with the false, unfair, inaccurate stories that definitely have a racial slant. Until that is acknowledged, I think it’s going to be hard for them to move forward.”

These conversations have not been productive

After the time of revelations, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would now like to enter a period of peace. According to journalist Gayle King, “they want to move forward and both want to calm things down within this family.” However, the road seems long before any calm. Indeed, the discussions between Prince Harry and his family have not yet produced results. “From what I’ve been told, these conversations have not been productive. (But Meghan and Harry) are happy that they’ve at least started an exchange,” Gayle King said.

The host also took the opportunity to defend his friend, accused of harassment by several former employees of the royal family. The main concerned denies the facts that are reproached to him. “The accusations (…) were raised in 2018 and now there is an ongoing investigation into the actions of Meghan Markle. But anyone who has worked with Meghan Markle will tell you exactly who she is. You know, she’s a really nice and caring person,” testified Gayle King, who further assured that the Duchess of Sussex had documents in her possession to back up her words. Decidedly, the dialogue between the Duchess of Sussex and the royal family is complicated.
