William and Harry a duo now as extraordinary

Since Meghan and Harry’s exile to California, relations have become strained between the prince and his brother William. According to Anna Pasternak, Diana’s biographer, the two brothers are replicating the family pattern of their parents, she told Vanity Fair in the May issue.

Like mother, like son? Disengaged from all royal responsibilities, Prince Harry inherited the “rebellious” spirit of his mother, fueled by a detestation of the press. According to Anna Pasternak, Lady Diana’s biographer, his brother William is more like his father, Prince Charles, with his “sense of duty above emotion”. Thus, the two princes have replayed “the dynamics of their parents”, analyzed the writer in the columns of Vanity Fair, on the occasion of the May issue.

Since his departure for California, Prince Harry has found himself “on a different trajectory” than that of his older brother, while their personal paths each take an opposite direction. On the one hand, Meghan’s husband is pursuing a California career, between his contract with Netflix and his commitments to mental health. On the other, Prince William is getting closer and closer to the British throne in London. As Vanity Fair deciphers, these two radically different careers reflect the antagonism between the two brothers.

Prince William makes it a point to remain apolitical, even as Meghan Markle has been targeted by racist attacks from British tabloids. “We are not a racist family,” he had reacted, after accusations from his sister-in-law. The latter had claimed that members of the monarchy had made racist insinuations towards her son Archie. “This raises the question: why did he not denounce the racism against his own sister-in-law?”, asked Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, an intersectional feminist author, in the columns of the American monthly.

The relationship blossoming between the two brothers

Once close, Princes Harry and William can no longer get along. The communication is blurred between the two brothers, because of the latest media outings of the younger. On several occasions, the father of Archie and Lilibet has attacked his family, blaming him for the “suffering” of his education, the isolation of his companion at the castle and the lack of support from the crown in his malaise. Comments repeated publicly that did not please his brother. “William thinks that Harry should discuss his problems in private and does not understand why he continues to shade his own flesh and blood on television,” a source reported to US Weekly in May.
