From the United States, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry paid tribute to the soldiers of the First World War, and to the women who worked behind the battlefields, on Remembrance Day 2022.

Great absentees of this day of commemoration of the Armistice, named Remembrance Day across the Channel, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have published Friday, November 11, a tribute to veterans and others who participated in the war effort, from the website of their foundation Archewell. “On this Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we commemorate military personnel around the world. These brave men and women, and their families, who have made enormous sacrifices, are the embodiment of duty and service,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex praised in their statement. “We are proud to work with many organizations that support veterans and military families, including; The Invictus Games Foundation, The Mission Continues, Team Rubicon, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and The Greatest Generations Foundation. Today and every day, thank you for your service,” concluded the couple, who are exiled to America.

The message was accompanied by a black and white photograph showing an American commemoration attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a former Hollywood actress. The picture is signed Chris Allerton, a photographer who regularly immortalizes the grandson of Elizabeth II and his companion.

A tribute that makes its effect

This succinct publication was appreciated by the Sussexes’ fans and the organizations with which the couple collaborates, as evidenced by the many reactions visible on social networks. The Mission Continues, an organization that supports veterans working voluntarily with the poorest populations, took to Twitter to express its gratitude to the Archewell Foundation for the public recognition of its mission to empower veterans.
