Meghan Markle has lost a loved one. This Wednesday, April 6, the Duchess of Sussex shared an open letter in tribute to her friend Oli Juste, who died suddenly mid-January. This canine behaviorist had made the link between the wife of Prince Harry and the association Mayhew, dedicated to animals in London. Their meeting allowed the daughter-in-law of Prince Charles to become the royal patron of this foundation in 2019. “We shared a commitment to animal welfare and a deep love of shelter dogs. Oli and her fiancé Rob helped take care of my dog Guy when I had just moved to the UK and he was recovering from an accident,” the 40-year-old former actress explained in her text posted on Twitter.
According to the director of the Mayhew Foundation, Meghan Markle donated a large sum of money in memory of her friend Oli Juste. By leaving the British royal family, the Los Angeles native gave up her royal commitments, including the patronage of this association, stopped in early 2022. Camilla Parker-Bowles, wife of Prince Charles and future Queen Consort, inherited several honorary titles from her stepdaughter, including the title of Patron of the Theatre Royal.
