Britons thought they had seen and heard it all, but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have started a new stage in the Megxit, showing once again their distance from the royal family.
The reunion between Prince Harry and Prince William on April 17 at the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, did not really change things. A month later, relations remain tense. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue the Megxit. The couple would have just taken a new step more than a year after leaving the royal family.
As a result, they had renamed their brand Sussex Royal to MWX. A brand that Archie’s parents would now completely erase. According to Express.co.uk, the Sussexes would have called for a liquidator to completely remove the company. The media mentions documents from Companies House that would show that the Duke and Duchess have requested the termination of the company on May 4. An application that would have been presented on Tuesday, May 18. The decision should be made within 10 days. Some observers interpret this as “a sign” that they are unlikely to return to the UK.
However, some hope that Prince Harry will come on July 1 for the inauguration of a statue in honor of his mother. Meghan Markle’s pregnancy being well advanced, his presence is not expected. Already forgotten Sussex Royal became MWX, and about to be liquidated, the couple launched a new brand in the United States called Archewell. Their U.S. venture is based on the “compassion” they blame “the firm” for lacking. “Welcome to Archewell. Through our non-profit work as well as our creative actions, we are driving systematic cultural change in all communities, one compassionate act at a time,” reads the website of this new company.
A new project with Oprah Winfrey
In parallel, Meghan Markle and Harry were seen in a commercial for The Me You Can’t See, a new show they have prepared with the complicity of Oprah Winfrey around mental health. “Making this decision to get help is not a sign of weakness. In today’s world, more than ever, it’s a sign of strength,” Prince Harry says in the trailer where he is seen with his father, Prince Charles, at the funeral of his mother, Diana, in 1997.
Meghan Markle appears as if in support of her husband, wearing a T-shirt that reads “Raising the future” in French. These last nails, hammered into the coffin of Megxit, should not tip the polls in their favor. According to a YouGov survey of nearly 5,000 people, 44% of adults polled think they should no longer be dukes and duchesses.
