The presence of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry at the coronation of Charles III is still uncertain, a month to the day of the historic ceremony. After being officially warned that they would not appear with British royalty on the Buckingham balcony after the event, the Sussexes may choose to attend another celebration.
Could Prince Harry and Meghan Markle be ready to get back at the British royal family? That’s what an article in the Mirror suggests this Thursday, April 6. A month to the day of the coronation of Charles III, the Sussexes were warned by Buckingham that the king had chosen not to give in to their demands, including refusing to allow them to appear on the Palace balcony after the ceremony. A firm decision that only increases the risk that the parents of Archie and Lilibet Diana do not appear in London on May 6. The couple could indeed decide to go to the Met Gala, in New York.
The annual fashion celebration, headed by Anna Wintour, will take place on the evening of May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and according to the British press, the King’s youngest son and his wife may well choose to overshadow the long-awaited coronation, which will take place five days later. Prince Harry would then become the first member of the royal family to attend the Met Gala.
Are Meghan and Harry planning a surprise appearance at the Met Gala?
But if it was first reported that the Duke and Duchess would probably attend the Met Gala 2023, The Express had revealed exclusively on March 15 that their attacks on the Firm could cost them their invitation cards. “We don’t know yet whether Prince Harry and Meghan will be invited or not,” Jordan James, CEO of the consulting firm Unlocked PR, told the tabloid. “It would not be very surprising if they were left out, given their current status within the royal family and the drama that has ensued,” he had deciphered.
In this early April, new insights still contradict this hypothesis. “The speculation that Meghan and Harry will not receive an invitation to the Met Gala because of the drama surrounding them is frankly hilarious,” laughed public relations expert Mayah Riaz in the columns of the Mirror. “When you think of the Met Gala, you think of drama. It’s synonymous with epic drama. Harry and Meghan’s presence will certainly make headlines and maybe even attract attention,” she pointed out, suggesting that the media coverage would be welcome for the fashion event to which all the celebrities of the moment are invited.
For the expert, it is always possible that the Sussexes decide at the last moment to go to London to attend the coronation of Charles III. What would be according to her the only reason that could prevent the couple to be at the Met Gala.
