Lilibet’s Second Birthday: The Heartfelt Emotion that Gripped the Royal Family

On 4 June 2023, Lilibet, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s youngest daughter, celebrated her second birthday. If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expecting a great reaction from the British royal family, they were undoubtedly very disappointed.

It was a day of celebration for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Sunday 4 June 2023. The reason: Lilibet’s second birthday. All day long, messages from the British royal family were delayed and never appeared. Neither King Charles III nor the Prince or Princess of Wales took to their social networks to wish the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday. A year earlier, on 4 June 2022, some members of the royal family had wished the little girl a happy first birthday. However, it seems that relations between Prince Harry and his family, which have deteriorated in recent months, took precedence over the day dedicated to Lilibet.

As a reminder, Meghan Markle gave birth to her second child at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. In his memoirs, the youngest son of Charles III recalled the day that once again changed his life. “I wanted to say: Hello. I wanted to say: Where are you from? I wanted to say: Is it better there? Is it peaceful? Are you afraid? Don’t be, don’t be, everything will be fine. I’ll keep you safe”, he wrote with great emotion.

Lilibet reportedly celebrated his birthday with his brother and parents

According to some British media reports, Lilibet celebrated her birthday with her big brother Archie, her parents and her maternal grandmother Doria. For her first birthday, the little girl was in the UK as her parents celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
