While their little Lilibeth Diana has just celebrated her three months, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would be on their way to the United Kingdom for a major event, her baptism. If the relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family is under high tension, the young parents would have at heart to have their daughter baptized in the presence of Elizabeth II.
New twist in the Windsor family. Three months after the birth of Lilibeth Diana, Meghan and Harry would be about to fly to the United Kingdom. If the couple has moved away from the royal family, Prince Harry has remained close to his grandmother and seems to be eager for his daughter to meet one of the most important women in her life.
To this end, the young parents have reportedly filed an official request for Lilibet Diana’s christening to take place at Windsor Castle, as revealed by The Sun. “Harry has told several people that they want Lili to be christened at Windsor, just like her brother. They are happy to wait until circumstances allow,” a source told the Daily Mail.
If Prince Harry is eager to present his daughter to the Queen, tensions have still not eased and the reunion may not be the most joyful. While Diana’s last son is preparing to release his explosive memoirs, that he wants his father’s skin and that he said that a reconciliation would not be possible until Prince Charles and Prince William have taken their responsibilities, not to mention that Prince William does not seem to want to make the first step either, the baptism could come at the right time to ease tensions or on the contrary cause the opposite effect
However, “the Sussexes have insisted that they intend to do things their own way,” as a source revealed, and it could be that this displeases the Royal family even more. For the moment it is not yet certain that the Sussexes will be able to leave the United States for the United Kingdom, as the health crisis is hindering international travel. The christening could then take place in California.
Prince Harry and Meghan already criticized for the baptism of Archie
In addition to the tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are also said to have alienated journalists during the christening of their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor two years ago, as Richard Fitzwilliams told The Express: “Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the British press deteriorated sharply when Archie was christened privately and the names of the godparents were not disclosed.” With the young parents still not revealing their daughter’s face three months after her birth, it’s a safe bet that if the christening takes place in the UK, it will be behind closed doors.
