At Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry would be welcome again on the sole condition that he went without Meghan Markle, assures a royal family expert. In the columns of Ok!, Jennie Bond explains why a split between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could reunite the royal family.
Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry facing their first crisis? Hand in hand on the red carpet at the Women of Vision Awards in New York on 16 May, the British tabloids are reporting tensions. Between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the atmosphere is said to be tense in Montecito (California), where the son of Charles III is having trouble finding his place. Feeling lonely, some English commentators are betting on a return to Buckingham Palace for the 38-year-old prince.
“I think Harry, without Meghan, would be forgiven and welcomed back into the royal family in due course,” argues Jennie Bond, former royal correspondent for OK! Jennie Bond, former BBC royal correspondent. Before stressing: “If the marriage failed and he came back, I think there is still enough goodwill towards Harry, well, towards the old Harry that we all remember”.
Prince Harry “not as despised” as Prince Andrew
According to the journalist, Archie and Lilibet’s dad “could regain the ground he has lost”. “I can’t imagine that he would be as despised as Prince Andrew is”, she added. But for the time being, this scenario “seems unlikely”, says Jennie Bond. And with good reason. Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept a low profile since the chase in which they were allegedly involved, the couple have denied certain rumours.
Among them, the one according to which William’s little brother has a “bachelor pad” where he spends time without his wife and children. His “place of escape” is said to be a room reserved for him in a large hotel chain in Montecito, where the couple settled in 2020. This information was denied by the Sussex spokesman in the columns of Page Six, who said that the prince “does not have a hotel room that he would allegedly use to escape from his wife Meghan Markle”.
