Harry and Meghan Forced Out of Frogmore Cottage: Their Final Belongings Shipped to California

In a surprising turn of events, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have bid farewell to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. According to the Daily Mail, the couple has relinquished the keys to their former British residence, marking the end of an era. As their last belongings make their way to California, the Sussexes face the challenge of finding alternative accommodations for their future visits to England.

After being served an eviction notice, the couple is now left with the task of packing up their remaining possessions. The Daily Mail reports that “their last belongings have been shipped to California” and the keys to Frogmore Cottage have been returned. Having relocated to the United States following their departure from royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will now have to rely on the generosity of friends or book hotels for their stays in England, as per our sources. Unless, of course, they can come to an agreement with the monarch…

It is worth noting that Frogmore Cottage was initially offered to Harry and Meghan by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift. Although they carried out significant renovations, the couple spent a mere “six months” residing there before crossing the Atlantic. While they may have vacated the premises, Prince Harry recently stayed at Frogmore Cottage during his visit to London in early June to attend the trial against the Mirror Group Newspapers.

The Unpopularity of Harry and Meghan in the UK

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed that they received a “request” from the monarchy to vacate the residence associated with the royal establishment. This decision has sparked a wave of commentary from numerous royal experts. Commentator Lee Cohen expressed his views in the Daily Express on March 3, stating, “Their behavior has rightly made them deeply unpopular [in the UK], so why should Frogmore, or any other residence, be reserved for them when they clearly have no desire to be there, nor do the British citizens.”

Cohen further adds, “The couple got what they wanted: to distance themselves from Great Britain and the responsibilities that never truly suited them.” He commends the king for displaying patience and empathy towards his son despite the barrage of insults and attacks they have directed at the royal family. Now, Frogmore Cottage is expected to be handed over to Prince Andrew, who himself faced eviction from his much larger Royal Lodge residence. The offer, however, is said to have been met with disdain by Sarah Ferguson’s ex-husband, deeming it “insulting.”
