After his revelations about his drug use, Prince Harry could face problems with his American visa. If the justice would get involved, a royal expert recalls that Meghan Markle’s influential friends in the Democratic Party could help him, we learn in L’Express UK this Monday, April 3.

Has Prince Harry forgotten that British morals were far from American puritanism? By opening up about his drug use in his memoirs, entitled The Substitute, the Duke of Sussex did not imagine that his visa would be questioned. And yet. Anxious to be as honest as possible and tell his side of the story, the brother of Prince William spares no detail on his taking of “cocaine, marijuana” or “psychedelics” such as ayahuasca. “It was the cleaning of the windshield, the removal of the filters of life like on Instagram. It took everything away from me,” he wrote. Causing an uproar across the Atlantic, the revelations also led to a request to have his visa checked “to ensure that he did not receive any kind of special treatment,” reports The Express UK.

A “conservative think tank” called The Heritage Foundation wants to make sure that wife Meghan Markle’s contacts in politics did not help the king’s son obtain land clearance despite his drug use. With the U.S. having a very low-tolerance policy towards illegal drug users, Prince Harry could have faced several difficulties in moving to California or simply going there on vacation before his move. But according to Kinsey Schofield, a royal expert, the king’s son would have little to worry about thanks to Meghan Markle’s network within the Democratic Party.

Harry and Meghan friends with Jill and Joe Biden

In the podcast To di for Daily, the host reminds us that he could count on Meghan Markle’s influential friends to get through. “They’re friends with Jill and Joe Biden, they can pick up the phone and call the president if they want to. They’re friends with Hillary Clinton, Stacy Abrams and Kamala Harris,” he explains. Acquaintances that would allow him to get “a free get-out-of-jail-free card” and “solve any U.S. visa problem.” But according to James J. Leonard, a lawyer for many American celebrities interviewed by The Mirror, the father of Archie and Lilibet Diana would have nothing to fear.

In the English tabloid, he explains: “I do not envisage any viable scenario in which the revelations of his memoirs on the use of experimental and recreational drugs could have consequences on the immigration status of Prince Harry”. He added: “Where it would become an absolute problem is if there was a criminal case of some kind and these allegations were related to drugs or alcohol and it was established that he was a habitual user.
