On tour on the African continent since mid-August, Prince Harry has left a new trace of his passage in the guestbook of a monument full of history. The son of Diana said he was “deeply moved” by what he had just seen …
After Mozambique, Rwanda! While he is expected in the United Kingdom at the beginning of September with his wife, Prince Harry is currently continuing his trip through Africa. Without Meghan Markle and their two children, the youngest of Prince Charles was keen to go to Rwanda. On the occasion of his presence in this country steeped in history, the Duke of Sussex visited the genocide memorial in Kigali, this Monday, August 22. Built as a tribute to the victims of the mass slaughter that pitted Hutu against Tutsi in 1994, the museum overwhelmed his distinguished guest, according to the note he left in the guest book. “I am deeply moved by what I have just seen,” he began by writing. “What an incredible display of unity and resilience. Thank you for showing us the way to healing and resilience. You are an example to the world,” he concluded, grateful.
Attached to the African continent, Prince Harry has always had at heart to return regularly. A few days earlier, Lady Di’s son had discreetly arrived in Mozambique. There, he was photographed at the very chic Vilanculos Beach Lodge. Closely watched, the father of Lilibet Diana and Archie and his luxurious trip through the country did not fail to make his detractors react on social networks. Underlining first the anti-ecology of his travels, Internet users have also accused the thirty-year-old of wanting to manipulate public opinion by going to symbolic places with the film crew of Netflix. The streaming giant is indeed preparing for several months a documentary on his couple and their commitments.
Netflix documentary, memoirs … Prince Harry accused of opportunism
“I hope you have not allowed the cameras of Netflix following Harry to film this for their documentary?” thus insurged a young woman on Twitter, in commenting on the publication of the memoir of Kigali, this Monday. “Otherwise, it would be disrespectful to the victims and their families. Harry is only doing this for their Netflix movie. He is not representing any state or government,” she finally stressed. His memoirs are expected in the fall of 2022, Prince Harry is indeed described as opportunistic by many Internet users who consider these trips as part of a ploy to restore his image after the controversies related to Megxit.
The African trip of the prince is also pointed out for the luxurious resorts in which the grandson of Elizabeth II stays. Upon arrival in Mozambique, the brother of Prince William has indeed taken his quarters in one of the most expensive hotels in the country, as revealed by our colleagues of The Express, on August 18.
