If the face of the second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has not yet been revealed, the little Lilibet was presented to the Queen.
This is great news for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. On June 4, their family grew with the birth of their second child. Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 11:40 am in Los Angeles. Her name pays homage to Queen Elizabeth II, whose nickname it is, but also to the late mother of Princes Harry and William, Lady Diana. If the face of the sister of little Archie is still unknown to the general public, the monarch had the privilege of discovering his great-granddaughter as soon as the couple returned from the hospital.
The daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who has already made history as the first child of the senior members of the royal family to be born in America, met the queen via a video call. This is what People magazine reveals in any case, this Tuesday, June 8. The couple, who had shared the name of the baby before his birth to the queen, seemed eager to present Lilibet to the sovereign. She is therefore the only person in the British royal family to have met, from a distance, the newborn. In discussion with Jill Biden, Kate Middleton had confirmed this week that she did not have the chance to meet her niece.
A controversial name
Only a few hours after the birth of Lilibet, rumors began to invade the Web about her name. A senior Palace source had told the BBC that the Sussex couple had not consulted the Queen before naming their daughter after her. However, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quickly countered the false information. “The Duke spoke with his family before the announcement. His grandmother was the first family member he called. During that conversation, he shared their hope to name their daughter Lilibet in her honor. If she didn’t agree, they wouldn’t have used the name,” the spokesperson had said.
