Prince Harry: This new mission that he will have to fulfill and which concerns him in the first place

The projects are multiplying for Prince Harry. While he has just been recruited in an American coaching and mental health start-up, Meghan Markle’s husband will also participate in an American initiative that wants to fight against fake news.

Prince Harry’s agenda is filling up fast. He has been recruited by a Silicon Valley start-up, Better up, which offers via an application “coaching, content and personalized care to transform lives and careers”. There he will serve as director of impact and will aim to contribute to “strategic product decisions” as well as “charitable contributions” while “publicly advocating for mental health issues.”

But that’s not all, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II will also work with the think-tank Aspen Institute to fight against misinformation and the spread of fake news. He joins a commission composed of 18 members who for six months “will study how to combat the urgent challenge of false information and disinformation in the United States. He will be surrounded by former U.S. Congressman Will Hurd, but also Garry Kasparov, former chess champion. The commission will be chaired by journalist Katie Couric, cybersecurity expert Chris Krebs and civil rights activist Rashad Robinson.

Fighting fake news is a “humanitarian issue” for Prince Harry

“Today’s digital world experience has inundated us with an avalanche of misinformation, affecting our ability, as individuals as well as societies, to think clearly and truly understand the world we live in,” Prince Harry said in an official statement before adding, “I am convinced that this is a humanitarian issue and as such requires a multi-stakeholder response from advocacy groups, members of the media, academic researchers and leaders in government and civil society.” A topic on which Lady Di’s son will certainly have much to say.
