A symbolic postcard to thank their fans

Meghan Markle and Harry thanked their fans who had taken the time to write to them by sending them a postcard, not chosen at random.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry thanked their fans. One month into 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent a personalised postcard to those who had wished them well. As reported on the Twitter account Gert’s Royal Replies, they chose a picture of them smiling and very complicit. An opportunity to remind them that everything is fine between them.

“Thank you for these thoughtful messages. We appreciate your kind words and the time you have taken to write to us at this special time. We send you our warmest wishes”, they wrote on the back of the card. A message signed “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex” sent from Clarence House, UK, where the “correspondence section” and Prince Charles’ office is located.

This moment was immortalised during their visit to Victoria Park in Dubbo on their first official tour, during which they visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga. Meghan Markle holds the umbrella to her husband, who gives a speech after the sudden arrival of an orange. “It’s OK, my wife is here,” he would have kindly replied to the mayor of the city when he offered his umbrella, as People said. A few days earlier, they had announced the forthcoming arrival of their first child.

Meghan Markle and Harry still together

Although nostalgic after having moved away from his family a year ago to become independent with his wife, Prince Harry does not regret his choices and this greeting card proves it: they are there for each other, no matter what the situation.

In a recent interview with Fast Company, he recalled that his primary goal was to protect his family, one of the reasons he has moved away from social networks. “I was very surprised to see how my story was told in a certain way, how my wife’s story was told in a certain way (…) this false narrative became the core of all this harassment. This would never have happened if our story had been told honestly from the start,” he said. It’s been almost a year since their Instagram account has been funded.
